Health Class: It's Not Just Body Parts
Health class has evolved from focusing on traditional organ systems into teaching children to develop healthy interpersonal relationships and sound decision-making skills. This presents additional challenges for interpreters above and beyond the organ systems which present their own complexities. This workshop will help interpreters gain the tools necessary to tackle the complicated linguistic concepts such as Nutrition and Fitness, Peer Pressure, Decision-Making/Refusal Skills, Managing Conflicts, Mental Health, Substance Abuse and of course, the traditional organ systems.
